Ex. Robert Gannon
This is a very unique specimen from Bob Gannon's collection, which unfortunately, had no label; so, the location is not known. The Quartz is mounded up in a spherical shape which is hollow underneath. The color is a subtle blue/green. No inclusions can be seen with a 10x loupe. The color appears to be from beneath the Quartz crystals which are clear near the surface. The Quartz has a high luster. This looks somewhat like Quartz specimens from Washington County, Missouri near St. Louis. However, I have never seen this color in a specimen from the location. Also, under SW UV, there are small areas, in the Quartz and underneath the specimen, which fluoresce a bright green, likely indicating the presence of Uranium compounds. I have shown the specimen to several long time collectors and none have seen a similar specimen.
Condition: Excellent
Flaws: Nothing Appreciable
