Mineral Specimen #4432    Double Terminated Tourmaline (Elbaite)

Shigar Valley, Skardu District, Baltistan, Gilgit-Baltistan (Northern Areas), Pakistan

This Tourmaline crystal exhibits a very attractive blue/green color. The color is solid at both ends of the crystal and lighter in the interior of the middle. One of the terminations is flat and the other consists of multiple beveled faces. The crystal is gemmy with a good luster.

Condition: Good

Flaws: There is a chip on the edge of the flat termination. Also, the sub crystal at the flat termination is incomplete. There are internal cleaves perpendicular to the C axis, which is common for Tourmaline crystals.
