Mineral Specimen #4326    Double Terminated Phantom Calcite

Yuzhnoe Pb-Zn-Ag deposit, Primorskiy Kray, Far-Eastern Region, Russia

40 x 8 x 6 mm

Sold

A finely formed, double terminated Calcite crystal with a long narrow habit. The center of the crystal has a tan colored phantom and both terminations are water clear. Similar specimens are often erroneously listed as being from Dalnegorsk which is nearby the actual location. The specimen is in excellent condition with no appreciable damage. In the photos, a few light cleavages can be seen in the interior. Interestingly, these are very difficult to see in person. A ridge is present in the middle of the crystal which appears to be the point of attachment.
