Mineral Specimen #4283    Spessartine Garnet and Muscovite on Microcline

Tongbei, Fujian, China

Well formed, gemmy, dark orange colored Spessartine Garnet crystals are scattered across the surface of this specimen. The Garnets are perched upon Muscovite books and a matrix of Microcline. The Muscovite crystals are covered in part with a coating of an olive green colored material. Many of the ends of the Muscovite books are free from this coating. The bottom of the specimen has been sawed. The specimen is in excellent condition with no appreciable damage.
