A cluster of purple cubic Fluorite crystals from the classic Blackdene location. Such specimens are highly sought after and the largest crystal on this specimen is much larger than usual (although larger crystals were occasionally found). The mine closed in 1987 and is now inaccessible being flooded and partially collapsed. The surfaces of the crystals have a high glossy luster. Under UV, the specimen fluoresces a vivid blue violet.
The specimen is in fairly good condition however, the corner of the second largest crystals is damaged. Also, both the largest and the second largest crystal have intenal cleaves. There is also some minor chipping on some of the edges in a few places.
