Mineral Specimen #391    Calcite on Fluorite

Cave-In-Rock, Hardin County, Illinois

This is an older specimen. It is uncertain which mine it is from, but it looks like the Annabelle Lee. The dogtooth Calcite crystals almost completely cover the Purple Fluorite. The Fluorite is a light purple color with an amber interior. The purple material is very clear with color zones of a deeper color. There is some damage to the Fluorite, mostly in the form of internal cleavages and some breakage on three of the corners.
