Mineral Specimen #3878    Hematite

Cary Mine, Hurley, Gogebic Range, Iron Co., Wisconsin

A specimen of reniform Hematite which has a high metallic luster. Most of the specimen is black in color with layers of reddish brown on the bottom of the specimen. This mine is near the better known Montreal mine and closed in 1964. The specimen is in good condition with no appreciable damage.
