Mineral Specimen #3874    Andradite Garnet variety Demantoid

Piedra Parada, Mun. de Tatatila, Veracruz, Mexico

One side of this specimen is covered with small gemmy green Andradite garnets which vary in size from microscopic to 4 mm across. The color of Garnet crystals varies depending upon size. The overall color is olive green with the smallest crystals clear and nearly colorless and the largest crystals exhibiting a richer, mint green color. The specimen is in very good condition with no appreciable damage. The specimen is in good condition with no appreciable damage.
