Mineral Specimen #3825    Rose Quartz Crystals on Albite with Minor Muscovite

Rose Quartz crystal locality (Pegmatite 24), Newry, Oxford Co., Maine

Rose Quartz crystals are quite rare and were first found in Maine. This is an extremely good example of this classic material with several rosettes of pink colored crystals. The matrix is Albite with well formed bladed crystals upon which the Rose Quartz rests. Interestingly, this Albite fluoresces a muted yellow color under LW UV. The specimen is in very good condition
