Three distinct colors are present in this polished Datolite. The predominate color is a light yellow with a butterscotch tint. TAlso present is light peachy orange color. his mine is well known for these two distinct colors; but it is unusual to find both in one specimen. Around the edges of the other two colors is white. These three colors contrast with the darker red/brown of the basalt matrix. The Datolite is only a thin layer on the surface of this specimen. The specimen is in very good condition with no appreciable damage.
