Mineral Specimen #367 Silver/Copper Halfbreed with Epidote
Calumet and Hecla Lode, Houghton County, Michigan, USA
This is an older specimen which has been recently cleaned. The presence of red basalt cobbles indicates it is from the C&H Lode which is composed of a conglomerate of basalt cobbles and red sandstone. This conglomerate was found around the town of Calumet. There is no way to know from which mine in the area this specimen came. There is ample Silver throughout the specimen. There is a coating of micro crystals of Epidote on the curved surfaces where more cobbles had originally been.
