Mineral Specimen #366 Aragonite
Gallo river, Molina de Aragon, Guadalajara, Castile-La Mancha, Spain
Type Location
This is one of the largest specimens of Aragonite from the type location I have ever seen. The color is purple in the center of the crystals which grades to gray at the terminations. The crystals are all double-terminated. The largest is 6.5 cm long. The crystals are psuedohexagonal and are actually twinned orthorhombic crystals. The specimen is translucent with transparent areas with good luster. The terminations have some very unusal growth patterns. The specimen is in very good to excellent condition.
8 x 6.2 x 4.9 cm
