A mass of thin wiry crystals of dark colored Millerite rises from a bed of off white Chalcedony. This is from a quarry which has been closed for better than 40 years. The specimen has been glued onto styrofoam in a perky box. Usually, I would remove a specimen from this kind of mounting. However, this will make for safe shipping of this delicate specimen. The specimen is in very good condition with no appreciable damage.
