Tongbei, Fujian, China

8.9 x 2 x 2.2 cm

Fluorite specimens from this location are very rare. The Fluorite on this specimen is present as two small octahedral crystals. The color is pale green with just a trace of purple on the edges. The crystals are transparent near the surface and cloudy deep in the interior. The interior fluoresces creamy yellow under UV. The Spessartine garnet crystals range in color from bright orange to orange brown. The more brightly colored crystals are gemmy and transparent. The Smoky Quartz crystals are also transparent and are a light color. The Fluorite, Quartz, and Spessartine all have a glassy luster. There are also books of Muscovite with a light green powdery coating which is likely Chlorite. The specimen is in very good condition with the exception of three of mica books are broken upon exposing the shiny Muscovite in the interior.
