Mineral Specimen #3505    Garnet in Schist

location unkown

10.2 x 7.5 x 4.6 cm

Sold

A cabinet sized specimen composed of garnet crystals in a silvery colored schist. On one side of the specimen, the schist has been removed to expose the garnet crystals which rise above the surface. On this side, the garnets are complete and the schist takes on a duller luster. On the bottom of the specimen, the garnet crystals are broken which reveals good color within the crystals. The specimen was in the Gannon collection, but the label has been lost., so the location is unkown. The specimen is in good condition with the exception of two crystals on the edge being broken.
