Mineral Specimen #328 Axinite-(Fe)
Stamps and Jowl Zawn (Roscommon Cliff), Trewellard, Botallack / Pendeen Area, St Just District, Cornwall, England
Ex. Carnegie Museum
This is classic material from near the very Western tip of Cornwall. Although the entire specimen appears to be Axinite, only about a third has intact crystals. There are several undamaged ones. These are gemmy with a vey nice brown color. This is a good representative piece for both the location and species. It appears from the Ford label, the specimen was originally purchased in 1952.
