The color of the Rhodochrosite crystals varies from pink to brown to almost black. The black appears to be inclusions of some type of manganese oxide. The crystals have a very high luster and with so many surfaces, the specimen sparkles. There are areas which have smaller, sugary crystals. There is an interesting bridge of crystals. The specimen is in good condition ; although there are small areas which appear to be contact zones.
