This specimen is a well formed stalactite of Marcasite with Sphalerite at the base. It is very well perserved for Marcasite and even still retains good luster with a hint of iridescence. For some reason, Marcasite from the Tri-State Mining region of the U.S.is not usually subject to the deterioration so often seen with Marcasite.
