Mineral Specimen #233 Multicolor Tourmaline (Elbaite)
Mt Mica Quarry, Paris, Oxford County, Maine, USA
This specimen is from a classic American location. This is a rather complicated specimen. On one side, there are green Tourmalines partially covered in Cookeite. There is also an unidentified dark brown material. The majority of the matrix of the specimen is white Albite, with some nice sections of small Albite crystals. The best part of the specimen is a vug which contains some red and green bicolor Tourmalines. The red is actually a deep rose pink color. There is one crystal which is very gemmy with a very nice green color. Deep in this pocket, are a number of small green crystals with blue caps best seen in the last three photos.
