Mineral Specimen #232 Rose Quartz Crystals on Schorl Tourmaline
Alto da Pitorra, Laranjeiras, Galileia, Doce valley, Minas Gerais, Brazil
The contrast of the Rose Quartz against the black Schorl make this a very attractive specimen. The Rose Quartz crystals are well formed points with good luster. There are two crystals with pseudo-cubic habit. The Schorl is triangular shaped with two sides and the termination intact. The third side appears fractured from a larger crystal. The other two sides are striated, There is a contact plane nearly perpendicular to the striations on the face without the Rose Quartz. There are three Rose Quartz crystals with breakage at the tips (two are not part of the rosette).
