Mineral Specimen #231 Emerald and Uvite Tourmaline on Magnesite
Brumado, Bahai, Brazil
This specimen has an unusual assemblage of species. The two larger Uvite crystals are well formed, a very good green color and transparent in areas. The Emerald is pale in color, but some of the crystals are of a well-formed hexagonal habit. There are Magnesite crystals which are very clear rhombs. There are also some tan crystals of an unidentified speices (probably one of the phosphates known from the location - Crandallite being the most common). The Uvite and Magnesite on this specimen are in excellent condition. The Emerald in the upper part of the specimen is well terminated but broken on the edges of the specimen,
