Mineral Specimen #218 Covellite

Arizona

Bright irridescent indigo blue with shades of purple Covellite with Pyrite and Quartz. This is from the Richard Kadr collection who was from the Cleveland, Ohio region and purchased in  1962. Arizona is not known for good Covellite specimens - when I first saw this I assumed it was from Butte, MT. The back of the card says Arizona as did two others I bought. The most likely location in Arizona would be the United Verde Mine in Yavapai County.
