The Rhodochrosite crystals on this specimen are an attractive red/pink. The crystals are partially covered with clear Quartz crystals. The largest Rhodochrosite crystal is 7 mm in length. The Rhodochrosite crystals are grouped together in a roughly spherical aggregate. Above the Rhodochrosites, is a cubic crystal of Pyrite, and below, is a larger cubic Pyrite crystal. Both Pyrite cubes have micro secondary sulfide crystals on the surface. The larger Pyrite is 1 cm across. The specimen is in very good condition with no damage to the Rhodochrosite (although it is a bit hard to tell under the Quartz crystals). A few of the smaller Quartz crystals are broken.
