Mineral Specimen #210 Picropharmacolite, Orpiment H₂Ca₄Mg(AsO₄)₄·11H₂O

Shimen Mine, Shimen County, Changde Prefecture, Hunan, China

This specimen has spheres of aricular crystals of Picropharmacolite amid long crystals of Orpiment. One of the Orpiment crystals has a purple/blue irridescence. The longest Orpiment crystal is slighty over 1 cm long. The specimen is in very good condition; however, I performed one small repair on this specimen. The matrix under the two crystals on the far right of the first picture was loose (never actually broken), so I applied some white glue on the bottom to stabilize it.
