Long, thin bladed Marcasite crystals with a reddish tarnish the color of Copper. Only once before have I seen similar specimens. It was when I appraised a collection which had been assembled by a man from Milwaukee, Wisconsin who had died in the early 1960s. He used to collect Marcasite and Millerite at the local quarries and then trade them for other specimens while on vacation in the southwestern US. And although his specimens had the same long, thin bladed crystals and they were iridescent, none of them had this red color. The specimen does have a bit of damage with several of the crystals broken and there is a bit of deterioration on the back of the specimen, but rare classic Wisconsin material.
