Mineral Specimen #2029 Papagoite included in Quartz with Hematite Crystals
Messina mine, Messina District, Limpopo Province, South Africa
This specimen is covered with small Quartz crystals many of which have included Papagoite. The Papagoite is a bright sky blue. There is also Hematite present in the following three different forms: as small silvery crystals with a high luster on the surface of some of the Quartz crystals, as reddish inclusions within some of the Quartz crystals, and as a thin layer of massive material on the back side of the specimen. The specimen is in good condition but the largest Quartz crystal with included Papagoite is damaged (in the 2nd photo, on the left edge of the specimen in the middle).
