This specimen is composed of banded layers of black Goethite and iron stained massive Quartz. The top surface of the specimen is black botryoidal Goethite with a high luster. Each of the spheres is composed of very small plate like crystals. The specimen is in fairly good condition but part of the top surface has a reddish overcoat.
