Mineral Specimen #1929 Analcime Crystals with Included Copper and Calcite
Phoenix Mine, Keweenaw County, Michigan, USA
This is a very rare specimen of Analcime with included Copper. The Analcime crystals are well formed with flat faces and sharp edges. The Copper is concentrated in the interior of the Analcime crystals and is quite visible due to the transparency of the Analcine. In scattered places, the Copper protrudes from the Analcime and is darkened or even green. The larger Analcime crystals average approximately 8 mm across. There are also quite a few smaller, clear Analcime crystals. There is also native Copper at the top of specimen with a few well formed crystals. The specimen is in very good condition with no appreciable damage.
