Mineral Specimen #183 Kutnohortite Ca(Mn,Mg,Fe)(CO₃)₂ and Willemite

Franklin, Sussex  County, New Jersey, USA

This specimen has a nice pink color. Although massive, there are a number of cleavage planes with good luster. Some of these do appear to have growth lines and may actually be crystal faces.There are a number of crude Willemite crystals frozen in matrix. The UV photo also exposes more Willemite not otherwise visible. This specimen came from the Wintringham collection via Ron Kendig.
