Mineral Specimen #177 Topaz
Aguas da Marambaia, Carai, Jequitinhonha valley, Minas Gerais, Brazil
This specimen is composed of three crystals in parallel growth. A great deal of the specimen is water clear and gemmy (see last two photos). Better than 50% of the main crystal is clean. The specimen is in very good condition with only a couple of dings on the edges. There are also some internal fractures with iron staining at the bottoms of the largest and the smallest crystal. It is this which gives the specimen its color in these photos; actually in real life it is almost colorless.
