Mineral Specimen #164 Anilite with Calcite, Malachite and Azurite
Roadcut near the Champion Mine near Painsdale, Houghton County, Michigan
Cu7S4
This is a rare Copper Sulfide. This is the first time it has been found in Michigan. Analysis work was done by George Robinson of the Seaman Museum. A copy of the analysis will be sent. Azurite is actually quite rare from the Keweenaw Peninsula and even Malachite is not common.
