Mineral Specimen #143 Azurite and Malachite
Silver Bell Mine, Mineral Mountain, Silver Bell District, Silver Bell Mountains, Pima County, Arizona, USA
This specimen is a nice combination of blades of Azurite and spheres of Malachite. The Azurite blades are up to 8 mm in length. The location is just outside of Tucson. When I was a kid I lived just off Silver Bell Road about 15 minutes southeast. The specimen was formerly in the collection of George Econ who taught Geology at Jacson Community College in Jackson, Michigan. When I bought the specimen, it was glued onto stryofoam in a perky box (common in the 60s and 70s) and there is still a tad bit of stryofoam on the bottom.
