Mineral Specimen #139    Siderite on Quartz

Panasquiera Mines, Panasquiera, Portugal

he Siderite crystals on this specimen are tan colored with a overlayer in places of an unidentified orange/brown material. There are also micro crystals of Arsenopyrite on the Siderite. The Siderite is on a large Quartz crystal which exhibits a slight smoky color. The Quartz crystal is quite clear at the tip and milky at the base. The Quartz crystal's edge are without damage and there are some internal fractures within.
