Mineral Specimen #1331 Aragonite
Gallo river, Molina de Aragon, Guadalajara, Castile-La Mancha, Spain
Type Location
This is a rather interesting specimen of Aragonite from the type location. The color ranges from gray to lavender/purple. The larger the crystal, the more pronounced the purple color. Each crystal is actually a sixling cyclical twin. The specimen has a good luster and many of the crystals are quite clear when viewed down the C axis. In several, the twinning planes are quite discernible when viewed down the C axis. The specimen is in good condition with no appreciable damage.
