Mineral Specimen #1258 Spherical Fluorite on Druzy Quartz on Agate
Mahadari quarry, Sinnar, Nasik District, Maharashtra, India
A near perfect hemisphere of Fluorite. The color ranges from a translucent tan/yellow to an opaque beige. The Fluorite rests on a bed of druze white Quartz. Below the druze, are a few layers of banded agate in colors from blue/gray to white which rests on a thicker layer of brown/gray translucent Chalcedony. The specimen is in good condtion. There are a couple very small bruises on the Fluorite (I had to use a 10x loupe to make sure these were chips).
From the Kirk Valuet collection
