Mineral Specimen #122 Twinned Andradite Garnet 
 
El Mochito Mine, El Mocho, Santa Barbara Department, Honduras

An extremely unusual Andradite specimen. It appears if some type of strange twinning has taken place.  The crystals have grown in such a way as to create a 'hole' in the specimen. There are a lot pictures because this specimen looks different from every angle.  The four pictures with the pronounced shadows were actually taken in natural sunlight. There is minimal bruising on the front. There are some contact points on the back. Included a couple of pictures of the back side of the 'hole' because of the unusual crystal habits exhibited there. This is a very unique specimen from a location from which few specimens are available.
