Mineral Specimen #116 Tangerine Quartz Flowers
Sonora, Mexico
An attractive spray of Quartz crystals coated with what is probably Hematite. The Quartz roses are set off by the underlying Chalcedony which has a blue cast. The underlying matrix appears to be Rhyolite. I bought a box of these at Denver from some dealers from Mexico who could not (or did not wish to) give me a more precise location.
