Mineral Specimen #114 Natrolite with Prehnite
Bergen Hill, Hudson County, New Jersey, USA
Ex. Philadelphia Academy of Sciences #17622
Ex. A.E. Foote
Nice aricular sprays of Natrolite crystals to 2 cm with good luster. Alas, there is no museum label with this specimen; although, the A.E. Foote label afixed to the specimen makes up for it. A.E. Foote was most likely the most famous American mineral dealer in the late 1800s. From the address on the label, this specimen can be dated as being stock offered for sale from between the late 1870s (probably 1877) and 1890. Since the specimen is wedge shape, it stands up niceley on its own.
17 x 12 x (2 to 8) cm - wedge shaped
