Mineral Specimen #111 Smoky Quartz and Feldspar

Tongbei, Yunxiao Co., Zhangzhou Prefecture, Fujian Province, China

Opaque, totaly black Smoky Quartz from a small find at Tongbei. Only the smaller crystals show any clarity. This material looks completely different than the Smoky Quartz associated with Spessartine. Most of the Feldspar appears to be Microcline. There is also a secondary unidentified overgrowth with a pale green color. Additionally, there are a few micro, gemmy, Epidote crystals at the base of the large healed crystal (see last photo). The termination of the top two crystals do have chips.

8 x 5.5 x 5 cm
