Mineral Specimen #1117 Tourmaline with Lepidolite
Karibib, Namibia
This Tourmaline has a very nice deep pink color with just a thin layer of blue on the outer surface. The termination is flat and colored olive green with a very thin layer of very dark, blue which is almost black. This dark layer does not cover all of the termination. There is also some very light green almost white areas near the termination, There is also a small light green crystal near the termination which is perpendicular to the main crystal. Covering the Tourmaline are very showy purple crystals of Lepidolite, some of which form spherical aggregates. The specimen is in very good condition with no damage to the termination, although some of the Lepidolite may be have wear.
