Berg Aukus, Grootfontein District, Otjozondjupa Region, Namibia

A well crystallized specimen of Descloizite. The crystals have grown in a parallel pattern in such a way to appear to be one long blade. There are also crystals on the back side of the specimen which stick out. One large crystal on the back is perpendicular to the rest of specimen. The front of the specimen is dark brown with good luster. The crystals in the back have good luster on one side and an orange coating on the other. The specimen is in good condition, with only two broken blades in the back and cannot be seen from the front. It has been glued onto a styrofoam base; this was done with white glue and can be removed by soaking in water.
