Ex. E. Morales from Mineral Mailbox, Washington Mineral Symposium, Sept. 1982

Although there has been a flood of Vanadinite crystals from Morocco over the last 20 years, the vast majority having come from Mibladen. This specimen is from another mining district nearly 500 km distant. The crystals are considerably different from the Mibladen Vanadinite crystals in being quite long more similar to some Apatite crystals. The color of the crystals is a rich, deep burnt orange and lighter on the terminations. The sides of the crystals have a high glossy luster but the terminations are dull and opaque. From the sides, the crystals are translucent to semi gemmy. The crystals are quite nicely perched on botryoidal, dark gray colored Goethite. The Goethite for the most has a dull luster but in places, there are small crystal faces with a submetallic, sparkly luster.

Condition: Very Good

Flaws: There is a very small bruise on one of the corners of two of the crystals.
