Mineral Specimen #6005 Pink Topaz on Quartz with Included Hematite and Possible Zeunerite, Magnesite
Brumado, Bahia, Brazil
6.8 x 3.3 x 5.6 cm
2.7 x 1.3 x 2.2 in
There are several small, elongated, pink colored Topaz crystals scattered across this specimen. The color is a deep pink bordering on violet and the crystals have a high luster. The Quartz is clear to white In color. In one area, the Quartz is colored red/orange with a light coating of Hematite. There is also a thin, elongated, silvery gray Hematite crystal included in one of the transparent Quartz crystals. There are also small, unidentified, platy, light green colored crystals included in one of the Quartz crystals. Based on the shape and color of this crystal, a good conjecture is this is Zeunerite or Metazeunerite, both of which are present at the location.
Flaws: A couple of the Quartz rystals and a few of the Magnesite crystals are broken.
