Rush Creek, Fresno Co., California

Type Location

5 x 4 x 3 cm
2 x 1.6 x 1.2 in

Ex. Robert Walstrom, Ex. David Garske, Ex. Steve Pullman

BaCa4Si16O36(OH)2·10H2O, BaSi2O5

I will confess, it is a little hard to find the Macdonaldite which should be needle like, fibrous crystal. However, the Sanbornite is easily recognizable and is the white colored material with the high pearly luster seen in the next to last photo and the specimen is priced as a specimen of Sanbornite. The reddish brown material is likely Traskite.

Condition: Good

Flaws: Essentially massive material.
