Mineral Specimen #4496 Double Terminated Quartz on Prehnite on White Banded Agate
Fairfax Co., Virginia
6.6 x 3.2 x 2.4 cm
2.6 x 1.3 x 0.9 in
Ex. Kirk Valuet
Small, white colored, double terminated Quartz crystals on a layer of light green colored Prehnite on white microcrystalline Quartz. This specimen is a bit of a rarity for Fairfax Co. in that there is a section of white colored, banded agate on the bottom of the specimen. When viewed under 10x, it can be seen that many of the terminations of the Quartz crystals are clear at the very tips. Both the Quartz crystals and the Prehnite have good luster giving the specimen a bit of a sparkle.
Condition: Very Good
Flaws: The termination on some of the quartz crystals are broken reveiling a semi hollow interior.
