Mineral Specimen #960 Red Beryl
Violet Claims, Wah Wah Mountains ,Beaver County, Utah, USA
A single large Red Beryl crystal on matrix. These are getting harder and harder to come by. The crystal is 6.5 mm long and a deep red violet color. Both ends are terminated; one mostly still embedded in the matrix and the other joined with another crystal. There is a crack and a chip near the end embedded in the matrix. Interestingly enough, there is quite a bit of Hyaline Opal in the matrix which fluoresces a bright green. In fact, there is a seam just below the surface the crystal rests on (not pictured).
