Mineral Specimen #949    Arsenopyrite

Huanggang Mine, Inner Mongolia, China

A superb specimen of Arsenopyrite with an unusual assemblage of radially aligned, curved crystals forming a roughly oval shape. The luster is quite good although more silky than metallic. Because of the alignment of the crystals, the reflection changes greatly as the specimen is rotated under a light. The specimen is in excellent condition with the only damage being at the base at the point of contact.
