Champion Sillimanite Mine, White Mountain, Mono County, California
A large Lazulite crystal embedded in Quartz. The Lazulite is a dark rich blue. Although specimens from the location are not often seen for sale, apparently there is still similar material at the mine. The problem is the mine is only accessible via a few miles of mule trail. The specimen feels as if it has been oiled.
