Mineral Specimen #906    Benitoite

Gem Mine, San Benito Count, California, USA

Type Location

BaTi(Si3O3)

This is quite a large Benitoite crystal. The crystal is translucent to nearly clear at the termination without any included Crossite. The color is a deep blue perhaps a bit darker than the photos. There is some damage to the specimen with a crack across the middle and a chip missing from the back side of the termination.
