Mineral Specimen #891 Red Beryl on Rhyolite Matrix
Violet Claims, Wah Wah Mountains, Beaver County, Utah, USA
The Red Beryl or Bixbite crystal on this specimen is 4 mm long and 5 mm across. It has an excellent red violet color. Half of the crystal is quite clean and the other half has internal factures running the length of the crystal. One end has a sharp termination and is in very good condition. I have examined the other end with a loupe and it appears it is crudely terminated with patches of Rhyolite on the surface.
